Pedro Linger Gasiglia
Juveniles in Prison :
Ciudad Sandino, Nicaragua
Pedro Linger Gasiglia was born in Argentina in 1977 and raised in
Brazil, Bolivia, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. He made these pictures
in a detention center for youthful offenders in Ciudad Sandino,
a suburb of Managua. Fueled by the relocation of families from the
capitols shanty towns, the population of this suburb, multiplied
five times during the 1990's. Six out of ten of the youths in there
receive no formal education. Here are Pedro's pictures of the jail.
